I have not used the auto box additive, but I did use another by Lucas for power steering which claimed to reduce leaks and improve performance of tired racks. The results were quite good. Eventaully I had time to track down and repair the worst part of the leak caused by a pin-hole in a steel pipe, but the Lucas additive was a useful temporary sticking plaster.

I guess it would be the same with the auto box. It may give some temporary benefits, to tide you over until you have to bite the bullet and effect proper repair.

The only additive that would be acceptable in a power steering system is one that has the effect of slightly softening the rubber of the oil seals, they then become more flexible and seal better
