hi,im sean(aged 26)
i've got a bit of a problem.
what it is i had a fiat punto mk2 but crached it 1 night through not looking where i was going an i hit a parked van,i was changing the song on the cd player(sean hides in shame)and i also recived 3 points for a PC30 the year before(stopped vehicle on white zig-zags)

now the problem is im looking for a new motor(im thinking ford focus,99-03 sort of age)but ever insurance quote im getting is over £1200+ thats declering the point and crash but thats out of my price range(im not very rich you see),if i dont declare them its only £800"ish" which i can afford.now i know this is wrong and could void the insurance but has anybody ever not declared point or a crash an then had something bad happen such as crash or broke in to an had to make a claim,if so what was the outcome, did the insurance company find out about the none declaired points/crash?

any info would be great.....!!

thanks,sean!!

Don't do it, if you get caught you could risk getting your car impounded and a IN10.

Get some more quotes, I'm paying £530 fully comp at 23 on a Mini Cooper with a previous ban (sp50) and a TS10

Well,

If I were going to do this illegal act - I wouldnt post on the t'internet asking for advice about doing it...

But they do know you have points and have made a claim via the Motor Insurance Database, they just have to check up on it... oh and I take it you've been using those online quoting things with your real name?

Simes.

Get a cheaper to insure car, build up no claims. Lying about history is a bad plan, they have computers and databases.....

This can only end one way and itwont be a happy one.
When you're new insurer find out about the claim/points they will cancel your policy .
You will then have to say yes to that question when you try to find another insurer . This will put your premium up again . It's a vicious cicle , you need to bite the bullet and pay the premium based on fact rather than fantasy . Not what you want to hear but it's the only way forward . I would be very surprised if anyone else will be advising anything else
