I've just been thinking: I only know 2 women who are genuinely excited that I managed to get myself into a Ferrari while relatively young. One is my mate's gf, and the other is my sister (so basically bugger all use to me tongue out) Most are indifferent, and the rest actually judge me for it thinking I'm a bit of a tosser if they only know me in passing e.g. The other day I went for a drink with my mate, and a female friend of his who I'd met for about 10 secs once, was chatting to me for about 10 mins and suddenly said: "hang on a sec, your richard's mate with the Ferrari aren't you?", I say "yes", she says "oh that's nice, you're not at all the tt I thought you'd be" !!! How charming! Anyone else experience this, or similar, or am I just hanging around with the wrong women?!

ETA: scratch that, three women. FastLaneGirl was excited and top company when I met up with her and a mate at goodwood the other week

Well I've had nothing but positive feedback and people asking me for a spin - maybe thats the Capristo effect...

Even the girls at work seem OK with it but they generally prefer the Aston...

Luckily I've got both bases covered woohoo

A lot of women will see a Ferrari (or Lambo) as a self-indulgent toy and by extension the driver a self-indulgent child.
This of course to the average woman, means that you wouldn’t be interested in spending all your spare money on her and therefore the average Ferrari driver would be added to either the unsuitable partner list or the "suitable, but must be changed list"

However were you to drive a quieter prestige car in a more subtle colour (Aston / Benz SL etc) then you would be added fairly highly to the suitable list. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Young woman and gold diggers are generally an exception to this rule and owners of the older cars are a whole different ball game . . . . . . . . the "cute little cars" that are 246 Dinos are great magnets wink

Cynical yes

Is that cynicism backed up by personal experience yes

I try to avoid talking about my cars to women. If I have to, it's the Merc.

Any guy who buys a Ferrari because it might atract girls is sadly mistaken and needs to get a life.
Leave all the "women love my car" bit to the TVR guys.

it's my belief that in fact the best way to attract guys, if you're so inclined, is clearly by buying a supercar. Gay supercar owners must do v well for themselves tongue out

But it's true...

On the other hand... With the TVR I did occasionally find myself having to explain what it was... (Only to people who asked nerd )

The TVR bit is very true, I pulled in the first TVR I had on the M25 and then spent 4 happy years with the girl until she left and tried to sue me ..... but thats another story.

The ferrari hasnt had quite the same effect fortunatly, it has apealed mainly to friends and neighbours wifes though !!!!

Whenever I've been lucky enough to borrow various Ferraris I've never found it picks up women, even if they're less flashy ones such as dark coloured 575's and 612's.

Feedback I've had is that it appears very flash (I don't really get that, I think it depends how you carry yourself) and to most girls it screams that you're financed up to the hilt which isn't that attractive apparently... must be the influence of chavs driving M3's who still live with their mother and only keep £8 of fuel in the tank!

I may not have a supercar, but driving around in a new blue Audi convertible (S5) certainly seems to attract the attention of a lot of girls; either from people I know or random people commenting on the street. In the 2 months I've owned it, only in a good way!

However there's still room for a Ferrari slightly down the line, whatever attention it gets!
