Tamron AF30-700 versus Canon 75-300 IS USM - Sample shots

At the risk of becoming a bore on Tamron lens...

After my Bentwater Airshow shots, a work colleague has lent me 2 Canon lens as he's changing to Nikon and wondered if I was interested in purchasing. One of the lens is an 5/6 year old 75-300 with IS and USM, the current version (now a 70-300) is still a £400 lens. So I popped out this evening and took some comparison shots.
Apologies that the shots aren't very inspiring, but I wanted something with sharp edges and lots of detail for contrast.

Shots taken at 70/75 100 185 and 300mm. all settings on auto with multi-point focus

If you download the images and zoom in or 100% crop then you'll start to see the differences
