Hello DragHeads,

the 25th anniversary is showing on the Hockenheim Horizon, the entry forms can be downloaded here :
http://www.nitrolympx.com/files/news/Nennung_Entry...
general info here :
http://www.nitrolympx.com/files/news/Fahrer%20Info...
additional info about extra pit space, team tickets and liability waiver (first page) here :
http://www.nitrolympx.com/files/news/Formulare%20N...
(Forms will have to be printed, filled out and returned by post, no online-entries.)

Some things will be "as usual"
like the invasion of 20+ UK SSBs on their annual invasion and trophy raid (AYE-monthen biggrin ).

Some will be an echo of the past like about 10 (?) UK SG teams entering a much closer-to-index field
than in the "Crane Cams SG Tour" days when continental drivers watched with dropped jaws
as the "guys from the island" did numerous 9,90s..................."just how do they do that???"

SC will also be raced, but I can´t imagine even the quickest "Super"hero doing double duties
because of the looooong way in and out of the Hockenheim pits,
will there be Super Compers flying the Union Jack/St. Georges Cross/Skull&Bones/rubber chicken/whatever ?

Some will be new like the premiere of P/ET and SP/ET racing at the NitrOlympX,
a class that sees regular record entries in the UK
but is only running its 2nd full season in germany with growing in interest -and numbers- of drivers.

P/ET is replacing the 12:00 "Public Race" sandbagging festival where few were real streetcars
and many were capable of running 11s, 10s or even 9s.
Some PR will follow into P/ET if they can comply with the stricter safety regs,
some drivers have put their classic US muscle cars in the garage because they do not want rollcages,
and some have either welded some bars in or bought another "quartermile-only" car without number plates.
Maybe we will even see new faces and cars in P/ET because some of the "Tuning Scene" drivers
have now safely arrived in P/ET territory with their euro/asia cars,
sometimes with FWD but always with massive turbos on their 4-and 6pot powerplants (or rotaries, who knows).

SP/ET is drawing interest -and cars- from "too fast" Super Class cars and "too slow" Comp Eliminators,
they are liking the concept of fast "dial-your-own" races and get pretty close to their indexes.
But as close as their brit cousins where the Top 10 (or 20 ?) are only (tenths of) thousands over ?
We will see, if there are any UK racers coming over, this is something I look forward to.

Another class that is run regular here is Competition Eliminator (called Comp Cars for whatever reason),
where I would like to see John B and John T in a BIG CE field for a change...biggrin

One class is unique to the NitrOlympX and that is "Pro Bike Eliminator",
a colorful mix of two-wheeled machinery from Pro Stock to Pro Mod to Funny Bikes,
will any of the traditionally tight-budgeted UK teams make the trip ?

And, last not least, there is the large and international Junior Dragster class
where the champions of past years are leading the FIA TMD points as I write this.

There is no "Home Track Advantage" for german or continental (dutch, french, swiss etc) racers.
as the "Rico Anthes Quartermile" is only used one time per year as a fully-prepped racetrack,
so which team will read the track and weather conditions best on their way to win the event,
or empty Tog´s (sponsored) pockets for "perfect ET" money ???

In order to answer this, I would like to know who is coming over to the Motodrome in August,
so who can give me an update/sneak preview ?

Your ever-input-hungry track announcing
shoutBenni

Slight Bump for the Summernat-homecomers.
Or do the ones who entered wait for their confirmation ?
Or is no one crossing the channel ?

Doesn't look promising Benni, at least you'll a few from down here in south-central Europe. Mostly bikers but I understand Heinz Peter Amerer from the http://www.bigdogs-racing.com group will head up there to contest either super gas or Super pro ET.

There's a thread about Hockenheim on the UK Pro-ET forum. From reading that, it looks like at least Rick and Carla are planning to be there, and possibly a few others.

Tet : thank you, I heard rumors about some ET racers coming to Hockenheim,
the crowd will like the wheely-ing couple.

Ribaric :
I already saw Amerer´s Corvette at the Test & Tune in Bechyne some weeks ago,
took him only 2 runs to get the SG into high 8s.
The driver also showed great skill in keeping the car off the wall
when it suddenly sidestepped , I suspect tire or chassis setup problems
which hopefully will be sorted in time for the Bechyne Race mid-july and/or Hockenheim.
