Lorry Drivers using mobiles...nutters..
Discussion
I have thinking about starting a campaigne..
whenever you drive past somebody on a phone, honk your horn.
I did this recently at some dozy s*d, who had their window open and they jumped out of their skin. I would like to point out that I only used the horn as they were weaving about as I was passing, so I was genuinely making them aware of my presence - but the reaction did make me start to think...

There was a case some time ago where a lorry driver was watching Battlestar Galactica or something on a laptop on their passenger seat while driving.
It was said in court that he was picked out on a random check because "he was seen swerving onto the hard shoulder, speeding up and slowing down erratically, and constantly seemed distracted"
In fairness, a few lorry drivers drive like this anyway without any form of distraction (to the professionally offended - I said A FEW not ALL), so not sure why this one stood out.

How boring, another bash the lorry driver topic. Lorry drivers are not the only people to use mobiles while driving. A 6 month driving ban should be introduced to anyone who thinks it's clever/ok to hold a mobile phone and make/receive a call whilst driving. As previously said there really isn't any need to do so with cheap and plentyful hands free kits on the market. This may sound extreme yes, but it will certainly make these morons think twice about doing it.

I see this far too often.
Another thing, slightly O/T, but people smoking in their company vans. Why would you bother when you could just pull over and NOT risk the fine?
Oh FFS. Perhaps because it is a stupid nanny state rule. Fair enough if sharing a vehicle with non-smoking colleague but if travelling on your own what difference does it make?Another thing, slightly O/T, but people smoking in their company vans. I don't smoke btw. Just always struck me as an utterly crap law which I hope the Police do not bother to enforce.
I was driving along today with the phone at my ear and window open. Some arse came along side and sounded their horn, well it made me jump so much I dropped the phone into my coffee that was sitting on my lap, this toppled over and soaked my chip butty resting on my knee, not a good day at all. Luckily my truck is only 32 tons so less damage if I'd have crashed.
