Another bit fallen off your chim Stew ?
its started going ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR so I think it needs a new bearing or a new itself. Its off to the doctors tomorrow for a scary MOT so I'll let them diagnose it properly. 100amp fuse died on the way to it's last service so thats all new and no longer "corroded, wet, blown".
Paul, you interested in mahou at the weekend?
Well, I broke down last night on the M6 toll road when the bearing finally went - why couldn't the car wait 1 more day when it was booked into the garage?!! I swear they do it deliberately!
Anyway, AA turned up and had a look: "No mate, not your alternator, one of the pully wheels has gone. Can't fix it, we'll have to recover you". So I got low loaded back to dorset (blessing in disguise with the snow maybe?). Had the car taken to the TVR doctors this morning and the verdict? Alternator. Maybe I'll give up on the software business & be a mechanic! Hopefully they'll be able to refurbish it but the bearing may have knackered the unit too much so we'll see......
