I need some help to compose a funny email to send round the company now I'm leaving. I don't want to burn any bridges but would like some amusing things to say.

I'm hoping for help from the PH massive, any help will be appreciated.

cheers

If you're going to attempt a joke keep it strictly above the line - i.e. don't single any one out and don't mention the shenanigans of the last xmas do. What you can get away with in your speech around the cake table, you might not be able to get away with written in an email - doesn't always come across properly..! redface

The best I have so far is:

Regarding my last cunning plan (and to quote Blackadder): “Well, I'm afraid it'll have to wait. Whatever it was, I'm sure it was better than my plan to get out of here by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman round here? Good luck everybody”

that's the last line from Blackadder Goes Forth and is kind of the level of humour I'm aiming for. nothing personal, nothing that will upset anyone

I wouldn't.

Just go and shake the hands of people you like.

If you use that and leave one of your wacky collection of ties that you wore to work on your chair as a memento of your time there - for example the Homer Simpson one, I think it is job done.

Ok fair point (good job I asked!)

before you said that I had a change of heart and just did a normal one as said "Goodbye and thanks for all the pens." which I though was subtle enough.

I am so sad at leaving, I never knew when she came to interview and I was struck by how absolutely stunning she was, she looked just like Katherine Jenkins, she had a body to die for, slim with boobs that are perhaps a little big for the rest of her body that she'd shaft me this way.

good luck with it:

you could send around some wise words of wisdom. something to help if there is an issue in the future...

this could work....

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done

If you can't think of anything yourself you should probably not say anything.

If you can't think of anything amusing to say without help from the internet it's probably best you don't say anything.

If you try and be humorous it just won't work, no matter how funny you think it is.

Just write a couple of lines about how you enjoyed your time there and leave an email address for anyone who wants to stay in touch.

Just my opinion.
