Hi, Anyone know if there is somewhere online to find current Dell e-values (or Evesham, Mesh whatever) for special offers on buying desktop PCs? Or do I need to go out and buy a load of magazines (or spend half an hour in SMiths scribbling numbers down!) ?

Dell don't seem to have any particularly great offers at the moment, so I was hoping there might be some with e-value codes.

Thanks.

PS I want to buy a new PC, budget £500 - £1000, with 17" flatscreen, DVD/CD writer, USB2 & firewire. Don't need printer, not too bothered about the software. Using for music, work spreadsheets etc., email, broadband surfing, maybe to watch DVDs occaisonally. I think my budget should be plenty to give me a good, fast, reliable PC - don't need anything overly fancy I don't think - no plans for video editting or anything like that.

Have a look here: www.dell.co.uk/offers
I got a 3Ghz PC 8 months ago for £1500 using an e-value code - choosing exactly the same system using the standard config options would have cost £2200!

That's what I'm worried about!
You can't find the e-vlaue codes from the Dell website.

Find somebody local to you who can build a computer and go down the local computer fair. I recently replaced the whole of my system apart from monitor for £600-£700 and I now have a XP3200 computer.

Try Novatech's clearance area - usually a few bargains to be had.

Check out on-line or mag reviews of Dell systems - they sometimes include a value code for the "review spec" model, which can be very good value. E.g. a couple of months ago, the review e-code for an Inspiron 8600 was about £3-400 cheaper than their standard price.
