Very nice loking car, personally I think it looks a bit better than 996, but then I do have a 993! The front looks a bit like the new Beetle, don't you think?

What makes me wory is how much of the interior seems to come from the Cyanne and how much it adds to the weight of the new car
From the photo it seems to be a finished US spec car so maby the Europian ones will look better

The front end DOES look like a beetle.

Thanks for the photos. I don't like the mirrors or the wheels but the round lights are much better - never liked the turbo lights on the face lift 996. How long before the 998 ?

hmm... not sure. the rear light clusters look out of proporion to the rest of the rear. the front light are clearly harking back to the pre 996, but again don't quite seem to work. i'll skip this one and wait for the 998 (?) which in understand is 3 years away. by all accounts this car seems to be a stopgap.

They should have done the classic P-O-R-S-C-H-E reflector strip across the back, like with the real 911s That was what turned me onto Stuttgart metal aged about 8 and three quarters. With the classic round lights it would have been a winner.

Nice stop gap but still a stop gap. I think the 998 is needed within 3 years.

you certainly can't beat those reflectors. i think they look particularly cool on the 996 c4s
now that's a grrreat car.

not too sure about this, which is a shame `coz I`m on the list (although expecting delivery in c.2025!).

I know porsche are evolvers rather than revolutionaries but, to me, this doesn`t seem to be much of a develoment over what is already not the prettiest porker.

Should help 996 residuals tho`!.

Yeah, see what I mean. The C4S looks great compared to normal 996s.

It was the reflector that did it for me with the 993. it makes the right kind of statement for the car.

regarding the new look, i can;t say i like those round frames around the headlights, if they just dropped them and let the lights just sit into the metal like they do on the beautiful 993, then i think it wouldnt look so like a beetle. If they also dropped the bettle/Carrera GT boot lid and let that run down to the top of the bumper, then i may think about trading in my 993 for one. Otherwise they can keep it, at this rate the 998 will look like just another Mercy Bends SL Whatever...

Maybe it's my age, but I think the 996 is probably the best looking of the 911s. I think the shaped headlights really complement the whole form - the round ones just look a bit boring. From what I can see on the 997, it looks pretty similar to the 996 but with the round lights, so a big step down! Also doesn't it look like the shoulders are very square? Getting even fatter!

I've got one on order as well.

I'm not sure this does it for me either.

What will the Turbo body look like ? Any offers ?

Definitely beetle --- or rather, defiantly beetle ?

They're not making a 997TT. Just C2 and C4, maybe C4S.

The 998 will have Turbo and GT2/3 versions.
