What do people think of this. I can remember last year we had Wilders banned from visiting due to 'anti-Islamic' speeches. Now we have Naik due to "unacceptable behaviour".

Don't know aboot that but this is funny.

"On the issue of the theory of evolution, Naik commented that it contradicts Islam since it remains "just a theory and not a fact". According to Naik, scientists "support the theory, because it went against the Bible – not because it was true." According to Naik, there are hundreds of scientists and Noble Prize winners who speak against Darwin’s theory."

Why? There are hundreds of scientists who disagree with Darwin, and his theory is just that...a theory.

I happen to agree with Darwin but this guy has a right to an alternative opinion without being labelled a 'knob'(sic).

"If Osama Bin Laden is terrorizing the enemies of Islam, I am with him. If he is terrorizing America, the biggest terrorist, then I am with him. Every Muslim should be a terrorist."

Hmmm, yeah, he's not allowed to come here? Oh well. Cry me a river.

This takes the piss! Apparently Zakir Naik was seen as a security threat! The guy has never said anything contraversial in his life!

There was a convention at the end of the month where he was going to carry out a speech titled 'Freedom of Expression - An Islamic Perspective' i was really looking forward to go but no thanks to Home secretary Theresa May (aka biatch) who decided that she is going to score cheap points by making her name under the Muslim banner by taking this guys words totally in the wrong context and then by means of her stupid blond arse of a face she decides to ban him. Way to go biatch, don't you think banning someone who is actually a fking threat would be worthwhile.

FFS this guy has even had other clerics issue a fatwa againt him

Grow some balls, FFS. If you're going to call someone a bh, call her a bh. Is her face actually blonde?

Could this have something to do with it?

"I never supported Osama. I have always been saying that all those who kill innocents are terrorists. So if the USA kills innocents, it doesn't have the right to call Osama a terrorist unless it owns up its own crime. Here again my statement has been twisted,"

Firstly, evolution is theory and fact.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_as_theory_a...
Second, he is a knob for saying scientists 'believe' in evolution because they are against the biblerolleyes. Many scientists can be both deist and accept evolution. There might be alternative 'opinions' but they are not backed by science.

I would actually quite like to hear that one. I guess it's a cheap shot to say "wonder how long it would last" wink Let him come and speak, I say. Double bill with Wilders, free expression for all!

Now if it was Abu Hamza or someone of thier ilk then fair enough but this chap is one of them tread lightly on flowers type. You tube him if you want to see exactly how extreme he is.

Depends which definition of 'fact' you use.

Being able to observe evolution of changes in a population as it reproduces (evolution) does not equate to verification of Origin Of Species or the theory that we all evolved from a few strands of amino acids.

I happen to think it is correct, but although it is supported by scientific observations it is still jst a theory.

I use the term fact that the scientists use, which makes it a fact and a theorybiggrin
"When scientists say "evolution is a fact" they are using one of two meanings of the word "fact". One meaning is empirical, and when this is what scientists mean, then "evolution" is used to mean observed changes in allele frequencies in a population. But another way "fact" is used is to refer to a certain kind of theory, one that has been so powerful and productive for such a long time that it is universally accepted by scientists."

"Neil Campbell wrote in his 1990 biology textbook, "Today, nearly all biologists acknowledge that evolution is a fact. The term theory is no longer appropriate except when referring to the various models that attempt to explain how life evolves... it is important to understand that the current questions about how life evolves in no way implies any disagreement over the fact of evolution."

Erm... I agree with you. He should be allowed to visit & speak. I would be interested to hear about freedom of expression from an Islamic point of view. Who knows, maybe he could change my preconceptions of how Muslims approach the issue. Right now they're quite negative.

I'm one of those oddballs who believes freedom of speech should apply to more than just Muslims, hence the Wilders comment. One man's dhead is another man's reasonable, moderate sort of guy. Or something...

For the record, Wilders appealed against the ban and won. He eventually visited the UK last October.

I'm with Mr Wilders in that less rather than more of the RoP is a good thing, so barring a preacher entry seems quite sensible.
