Mileage too high?

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and would like some advice.

I have seen this Tuscan (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1698798.htm) which I like the look of, but wonder if the mileage would be considered too high - especially if the car has not had a rebuild.

I`m sure some Tuscan experts will be along shortly, but the milage only equates to just under 6k per year, it wouldn`t worry me, plus I believe fernies have a pretty good reputation.

My 2 penneth, and i know everyone thinks differently. Cars after 2003 were *meant* to be better out of the factory, but in all honesty i think the real improvements have been in the aftermarket builders and the improved design components.

I wouldn't necessarily be worried about the mileage its more about how its been looked after, wamred up propoerly, serviced regularly and by the right people etc.

You may be absolutely fine and im sure its much better than an early 2000 car for example, but you cant really be sure.

I love the colour combination, works well, very nice car.

Not too sure on prices at the moment to be honest so wont comment on the £30k. However that to me is not a high mileage at all, as already pointed out only averages to about 6k a year. My '04 has nearly 42k on it with no engine/clutch work and still going strong. My advice would be to get the mileage out of your head and if you like the car, trust the dealer and have s good service history go for it.

Looks very nice and one big advantage is that it has the convertible dash ( some don't like it, but not as fussy as the earlier MK2 dash)... and more importantly "Mk3" wiring and electronics in the dash. Fernies are always top price , but I'd say its fair if its in very good condition.

PS... Get them to confirm it has has a Close Ratio gearbox aand 3:73 diff (which an "S" SHOULD have, but many didn't), if they say it hasn't (use as an arguement to knock down to price), if they says it has (get it in writing) , check after you buy it (then sue for misreprentation )

Having though about it 30k mileage is high for the premium price they are asking..knock them down by £3-4k

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I was comparing the mileage to those of advertised Tuscans which generally had lower mileage for similar age and also that it’s not had a rebuild.

Glow worm it's not actually 30K but 23.5K on the clock if that changes the opinion?

Sory got mixed up the price..In that case it is fair, mines 2006 with 15k miles now and i regard that as low mileage.
