I've got the possible opportunity of a job move to Oxford Business Park near the BMW plant. I'm currently living just to the east of Cirencester and Multimap says 1hr 15 for the journey.

I am aware of Oxford's reputation for traffic & wondered if regular drivers to Oxford can advise if this journey time is way off or not and what time the traffic starts to build up

TIA

I used to work there - in peak times it could take 15 minutes just to get off the business park and onto the ring road! If the ring road traffic was bad it could take me an hour to get home and I only lived 12 miles way. Unless you're can leave by 4pm there's no way you'll get to Cirencester in that time.

Thanks for that - I'll have to give it some serious thought

It'll take you an hour to go from East oxford to West Oxford in rush hour let alone carrying on down the A40. I went out with a girl from Bourton-on-the water for a bit, it took her 1.5hours to get to work in Headington at the JR2. You'd have to carry on another couple of junctions of the ring road and more A40. I'd say it'd be a 2 hour commute most of the time. School holidays it may drop to 1.5 hours if you drive to the conditions.

Oxford Business Park isn't too bad to get to from the south of oxford. But we relocated from there in 2002. Generally there is jaff all around there other than traffic.

From where your coming from......it will be worse. Sorry....oh and it won't of improved in 8 years either!

Best off getting a motorbike or something. I live in Oxford, and I'll be getting a small one to get around the city.
