Emerald mapping
Discussion
Just got back from having the TVR Racer tweaked, esp now I have a new camshaft.
Good new it was not far off and running in the safe zone, apart from a few high and low spots.
Bad news They could not get the emerald software to run on there laptop, good job I brought mine, also they was not that up on using the emerald software (they did knock off an hours time though due to there problems)
End result up about 10% across the range, was running 175 BHP at the wheel (at 5300 RPM) before and after 190 BHP at the wheel, so about 230 at the fly, which is about as much as your going to get at of a 4.0 running standard heads.
Also should be a bit more responsive as they spent about 2 hours just sorting the 2k to 4k RPM range. so its got a much better curve.
Not got a scanner at home but will get them to email me a jpg of the before and after power runs.
other good news, the emerald temp sensors are over reading so the car is not running as hot as I thought, will have to calibrate them manually.

Leigh,
Nice one Leigh.
Out of interest, I believe you run slicks on your car.
Does it run much lower than a stock road wedge, and if so do you ever bottom out on track?
If yes, is it the same central silencer that hits the tarmac first?

Yes I do run on slicks,Nice one Leigh.

But I have don't suffer than much for 2 reason,
1. Central Silencer is in the side of the car, ( downside can't take passengers)
2. Running Nitron Coil overs with very stiff springs, and fully rose jointed, and front suspension chassis brace.
There a few good pics on Paul's facebook account and on http://www.racingexposure.com/snetterton/10-05-30b... that show the limited body roll

Sounds like your car will be singng round the track Leith.
Im looking to change my ECU to some thing more flexible.
Do you change the oil after each race meeting or just the filter or do you feel the engine isnt too over stressed
Hope the car runs well for you.

Well seeing as I do a max of 100 miles at a race weekend, its a big over kill changing oil every time, so just do the oil and filter at every 400/500 miles, unless it start to look a bit dark, or feels a bit thin.

Leigh,
I could not find any model Nitron's listed for the SEAC.
Do you know if the Chim/Griff cars used the same shocks/springs at these are available at a very reasonable circa £500.00?

They are just generic coilovers the car has be modified to take standard coilovers, makes its easier when they get broken.I could not find any model Nitron's listed for the SEAC.

The Chim/Griff shock will be similar to mine, but are totally different to standard fitment to a wedge.
Also I think nitron would be close to £1000 for a set.
maybe worth going for the coil over kit Steve heath does with gas golds, your get adapters with the kit so the car can take coil overs. so you could always upgrade at another date.

Leigh, this is my 400SE's dyno sheet, just for comparison. They seem pretty close. What cam have you got ?
I got a bit more out of my 400SE was about 200 at the wheels, but this is with high comp pistons and ported heads. On the racer still running standard heads, but running a JE 218 camshaft.

These Racing Red Nitrons are same prices as all others but are not listed for the wedge.
Was there really any difference between the coil over's for the later wedges and the Chim/Griff?

No wedges have been able to take coil overs, without chassis mods or without the Steve heath adaptors. Was there really any difference between the coil over's for the later wedges and the Chim/Griff?
Phil

The later cars was designed to take coil overs, but with the mods or adaptors then there should not be any difference to the coil overs, apart from length
