what to do for nye?
Discussion
It's my birthday on new years eve and this time its serious - I'm turning 30!
I'm looking for ideas of something/somewhere to do/go as I may well have left it too late to book something interesting.
at this stage I have no clear plan or restrictions. if I can find something good for a reasonable price I am sure I can drum up a dozen or more friends to join in. I often holiday to weird places with a large group so renting something grand for the week is possible - cost dependent.
uk or abroad, the cooler/more interesting the better, capped at £300 pp (3nights minimum preferred) for travel & accom. should be a good starting point.
all suggestions welcome!

india is an idea. earlier in the year I was thinking japan with the OH but its crazy expensive for nye and I'm now single.
my friends vary from very well paid to not at all, so I need to decide whether to pitch a 'holiday' or '2 nights of excess' deal.
I'll look at india definitely, certainly anywhere where celebrations have a local flavour get the thumbs-up.
