How would my 2009 turbo Cooper S compare to a NA VAG 3.2 V6?
Discussion
I am looking to get more of a "grown up" car to replace my 2009 Cooper S.
The Cooper feels very quick- I am very used to turbo cars. Comparing my MINI to the TT MK2 V6 shows that bhp/ton is only a bit more in the V6.
Obviously the TT is the heavier car.
The TT looks gorgeous (imo obviously), has a gorgeous sound (which is why the 2.0T doesn't interest me), quattro and more.
How does a NA powereful engine compare to a turbo car? Will it feel the same due to the great torque on the V6 (I have 240nm and the V6 has 320nm).
Cheers!

I think a TT 3.2 will feel quite lethargic after a Cooper S to be honest.
Figures on paper rarely tell the full story. Years ago I had a Golf Mk4 1.8T (150bhp) and had a friend with a 170bhp V5 Golf. Although his, on paper, was producing more power and torque it felt leaden compared to my car. It did sound much nicer though.
Of course the answer is to have a drive in one (there are plenty about) and see what you think.

I px'd my wifes MCS for an R32 with that engine, it was rather tedious, except for the noise. In the golf it just didn't have enough grunt. It certainly didn't feel as fast due to the linear power delivery. I've not driven it in the TT though. Figures on paper rarely tell the full story. Be prepared for your fuel costs to almost double too. The days of >30mpg will be long gone.
