Hi Guys/Gals,
A lotus-driving mate pointed me towards website. Glad to find plenty other 'S' nuts. Mine's a mica blue V8S which can now be spotted around Cambridgeshire. Apart from ubiquitous electrical gremlins (engine cutting out when turning left was the hardest to find)it hasn't let me down yet. Found roads in Fens don't suit the suspension so need to look back through threads to get advice on a new set-up. Acid test will be bump 2/3 miles west of Haddenham on A1123 at (ahem...)60mph. Try it if you get the chance - combination of cowboy yells and brown trousers.

Can't give out much advice on mechanics I'm afraid, but I'm electronic engineer so can trade that knowledge.

Had it 4 years now. Bought it off a top bloke near Epsom. I was planning to buy an S3 but thought I'd just 'have a look' at a V8 & couldn't resist. Beans on toast for a year but well worth it. I've also been rebuilding an MG (yeah, yeah I know) but progress has slowed a tad since plastic fantastic has been in the garage.

Right about the electrics - real rats nest stuff. But, if you want circuit diagram & reliability buy German, huh ?

I've had mine for four years too - but haven't suffered from any nasty gremlins - mechanical bits and exhaust gaskets have worn out sure, but they are easy to get fixed. Its never let me down, its my only car and I've put 40,000 on her (her in a kind of east german shot putter way of course!!! ). I must admit, on the rare occasion I've tried to look at the fuse and relay panel I have run away.
