..or was it some kind of rep.

I saw this earlier in the week (or maybe last week) heading east near the A4 at Hare Hatch.

Just spotted it twice over Twyford.

Was very slow, didn't have that SC growl & only saw it from the back.

Still, they don't like it up em!

More likely to be a replica or a Bouchon than the "real" thing. If it really didn't have a supercharger, then definitely a replica.

Could have been an Me 108 too? Very similar looking from behind.

There has been a Me108 at Kemble airshow this weekend.

Easy to recognise them: they tend to come from the sun, and fly in loose pairs rather then our "vics"...

Actually a Nord N1002, as all the ones in the UK are, but, yes, you are probably right at it being one of these, especially as it was flying slow and quiet, which is unlikely if it had been either of the RR Merlin powered HA-112 Bouchon's that are based at Duxford.

There is an Me108/Nord based at White Waltham - most likely that is the one the OP saw.

Not all of them, in fact I think all the airworthy genuine Me109's, at least in Europe, are "G" versions which didn't have taiplane struts.

I had a feeling you'd know - thanks.

Were you out in the Pitts yesterday?

Being pedantic here but it's BF108, not ME108.

Ok, but actually Bf !

Interestingly enough (probably) the prefix Me & Bf are both correct for the '109 (which I've been researching for a scale model recently):

Go to "Articles", fourth one down.
