Does any one know which is the cheapest way to take a large pickup (Dodge Dually) 6.4 mts long and a large double decker trailer 8.5 mts long inc draw bar with 2 car on to the ring ?

Ferry or train ? and would i have to use the freight train as the pickup is the same width as a coach ?

Not specifically. But we tend to use Norfolk Line ferries as they seem a bit cheaper than the others. And drop off a bit further north as well.

I was due to go this week but had to cancel due to car problems, Traveling from N Wales the Hull to Zeebrugge crossing is the least stressful and for me knocks around 300 miles off the trip to the ring and back, best price for car and trailer was £370.

The cheapest crossing was the Dover Dunkerque crossing (Norfolkline) at £80 for car and trailer.

You may struggle to go on a passenger booking on any of the ferries, I'm over the channel weekly for work with a car transporter & I've been slung off & barred from all & have to go freight, which is a lot lot more expensive for long vehicles.

Single car on trailer no probs, its when you take a pair it can become a pain.

Freight crossings are a lot more expensive, need to go via a booking company as otherwise booking direct its silly costs.

Just had conformation of the booking, as long as it doesn't exceed 18mts in length combined i can go as car with roof box and trailer (this is after giving exact details and length ang make of both pickup and trailer.

Cost £170 return...

It's a lot cheaper than i was expecting?
