I know you like to keep it all OE ( apart from the steering wheel wink ) but take the opportunity to price up E30 ones and see if they are cheaper

your joking right?? I gave away a set of E30 when i sold my 325 sport frown

Steering wheel has made SUCH a difference, It feels more weighty (due to smaller diameter?) and therefore confidence inspiring!

ETA: it could well be a placebo effect as i thought the new gear knob made the change feel tighter.

A lot of people go for E30 wishbones as the ball joints are more rigidly mounted than the E36 ones. All these little details can add up to more steering feel if you want to go that way.
As a plus the E30 ones are generally cheaper as well

I was shocked this morning, phoned my local dealer for a drivers side front wishbone bush replacement.

bmw said they cant only do one, they will do both, and for two bushes fitted = £208.

then further to that price, its £120 for a wheel re alignment.

jesus christ, i think i will try and go through a specialist instead.

really?? I was down there today with the CEO's 545 and thought i'd have a laugh and get prices. they said the kit EXCLUDING bushes was £205 + another £21 for the bushes. I need a thermostat housing (£21 + £2 Gasket) and figured why not see how much a thermostat itself would be... ready for it.. £31!!!

Graham - did you price up the Lemforder arms ( E30 and E36 type ) from somewhere like ECP etc?

Obviously it's your money and all that but I bet you could save the price of that stat by getting them from there

Not going to buy from BMW, The guy that is doing the job i trust as its a mate and he is in the trade and will do me a deal. Was just at BMW with another car so figured why not have a laugh. I had a peek at GSF and they are around £36.
