Had my aircon re hazard on Sat thing is it clicks the pump in for a bit then ly switches off.
Now we tried different gas levels the less we put in the more the motor kicked in.
Plus it does not appear to be blowing cold.
So what do I do next.

There are no leaks on the system.

Question two is what are the aircon radiator off as we had another cerbera with us with a holed aircon radiator

Out of the three cerberas there only one ended up fully working

Really you should fully vacuumed the system and then it should be loaded with new gas and oil to the recommended levels. If you have not done this then I would not expect the system to work properly as there are may safety features IE over/under pressure etc.

Where did you have it re-gasssed? (re-hazzard??) Any good Air Con place should know what to do and how do achieve the optimmum setting. The amount of gas can vary from between .75 - 1Kg.
If it was all done correctly and still isn't working, and there are no leaks. Then check the switch in the drivers footwell behind the carpet - it's just in front of the door opening at about knee height, it looks a bit like a radiator bleed valve with wires connected to it, check all the wires are connected. Then and try turning it to set the temperature, don't go too cold because you run the risk of freezing all the pipes.

If the pump is engaging then the electrics are OK. If it's turning on and off after a while then that is OK too as the pump will shut down to prevent over pressure in the system.

If the temps not cold then I'd say look at the mass of refrigerant (850-1000g).

Thanks...yes we fan it with from 750 thru to around 850, we took 740 out, which is similar to what another cerb there had took out, this worked well when taken to 750.

The system was totally drained and refilled at the mo it is running with just 400 in there, this was what appeared to keep the pump running longest.

Thanks for this I will check the area in the drivers footwell then, I guess the positive thing is that no-one has suggested the pump is US...

The fact that there appears to be only fresh air as opposed to cold air might add some weighht

Hi Steve

Sometimes this aircon thermostat has a knob on with a fan symbol on it but sometimes it's just a switch with a plain brass spindle sticking out of it so harder to spot. It's not always behind the carpet either with mine you need to get on your back in the drivers footwell awkward as hell as ever with these cars, it's located above the drivers right knee.
I don't think I've ever known a Cerbera aircon compressor to fail except for the guys that exploded a while back.
It is possible the compressor is tripping out on high pressure which could be genuine or a faulty pressure switch on the drier bottle?

Happy hunting, I can't help but admire your determination to get your Cerb 100% as you have with your other Tivs.

Speak and see you soon

Simon

Thanks Simon,

Sounds like another area of the car that I have to learn....in thwe middle of fitting that front splitter on the car..it is very deep...I am running with no splitter of F1 panel at the mo...just so i can spot any leaks and tighten up clamps on the new hoses...had that car set-up at Power...(obviously talking theoretically) but the car would appear to get very light at the front end over 100....and I magine very light around the 140 mark...think I need the splitter and F1 panel fitting!

Anyway thanks for the advice on the aircon, pop over and have a look at the car at supercar sunday...be interested in your thoughts.

Thanks for the positive comments...it'll never be as sweet as that one of yours..but will do my best.
