So far I have considered Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden....
Would be my suggestion. Lovely little place. So far I have considered Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden....
Ramsay's on Royal Hospital Road is fantastic too, and more intimate than his other offerings. Liked it very much.
Have you considered making a w/e of it? Somewhere like Le Manoir? Or perhaps the Waterside or Fat Duck?

Um, did you read the budget?
No

In which case, OP will struggle at those places, even Clos if wine is wanted etc

Feck it, push the boat out fella. I reckon your first anniversary is key. You can then back off until you reach (NB speaking as one who isn't yet married!!).
Clos is wonderful! Went there for my 10th Anniversary - had the tasting menu with a nice bottle of not too expensive vino! Tasting menu without wine is £55 per head so you would be looking nearer £140.00 - BUT it is really worth it - fantastic place. Wifey loved it as well and a good night was had by all

I would say budget is set to just make me feel prudent - pretty sure the reality on the night will be to up that to £150
Will have a look at the suggestions so far.
If it's more a "guide", then Clos is a very strong recommendation (I also did the tasting menu).I would say budget is set to just make me feel prudent - pretty sure the reality on the night will be to up that to £150

Ramsey's too, but that'll be nearer the 200 mark with a bottle of vino (tasting menu is/was something like 70 quid).
Both are very much worth it.
