SEAT Leon...............or........................what?
Discussion
Hello, yes this is a what car thread. My daughter's circumstances have changed meaning she has to get rid of her beloved 206CC (I know, but she is a girl). Job change and personal changes mean she now needs something to fit different parameters:
Budget: £8.5k max
Diesel for economy (70 mile round trip to work each day, plus trips out during the day).
Don’t go solely for practicality over style – want the car to look good (no Berlingos etc!)
Not too big, but room needed for 2 medium to largish dogs needed in the boot.
Reasonably nippy.
Looking currently at SEAT Leon 1.9TDI, any other suggestions welcome. Thanks all.

the dogs presumably didn't go in the 206 then?!
bit marmite but honda civic (current one)
alfa 147 (being replaced so values issue?? cheap cars though - and MiTo-chic??)
very early ovlov c30??
No! They also had a Vitara, but "they" are no longer a couple, and he's sold it!bit marmite but honda civic (current one)

She likes the Civic, but would she get one with her budget? 147 would be good, but a quick look shows budget problems again, and whilst the C30 is also liked, she thinks it's too small for the mutts.

the civic would be towards top of budget and have reasonable miles on it. but they're quick (for what they are). not sure if they did a worse diesel than the 2.2 - presumably so...
alfa well within budget. and more diseasel options.
a couple of more (this time 'different'!) thoughts:

2008, 36k miles, nice colour. six and a half bags of sand. even if they're worse than average (and i expect they're average) that's a reasonable bit of kit. (edited to say awooga awooga: "towing pack fitted")..
if i had 16 grand i'd get this as a station car and an elise!
