Afternoon all, I'm due a new company car next month so am looking for suggestions. Currently have a 2.0TDI Golf (surprise...) and will be likely be getting something within ~£5000 equivalent price. Not doing a massive milage, though diesel is the likely option. Also, I have two kids so need 4 doors.

I've had a look about but nothing jumps out.

Suggestions welcome.

Alfa, don't go down the 116d or A3/A4 route, everyone has them, try this:

I would have a look at the new Giulietta. Very impressive CO2 figures, some interesting engines to choose from and some great reviews in the press.

I took the insignia 160 bhp with sat nav, very nice , comfy massive boot rear visibility a bit poor but quite good, as fast as the Mondeo ST TDci I had before.

looks lovely, but you missed the "two kids 4 doors" part.

so he needs the 156 hehe

Rick, he said 5k bracket, so I'd guess second hand, that would rule out the Guilletta.

Zes, I read it to be within the Golf price range +/- £5000.
confused

Oh, is it a "5k/year" kind of thing? Sorry, we don't calculate like that over here.

My bad smile.

Are you simple? It's within £5k of the Golf's price. If a Golf costs £20k, his new car can cost between £15k and £25k.

If it has to be diesel, I'd take a 320d please.

Sorry, english isn't my first language and I misinterpreted the OP.
If that makes me simple, then I guess I am.

Thanks for clarifying tough.
I'd defo look at the Guilietta, looks ace inside & out, don't know how it drives yet tough...

It might be more a matter of what you can get hold of - a lot of cars are on 12-16 week delivery times now, and we're just about to get into the summer shutdown time.

Land Rover Defender. Would be different, fun and the kids would love it.

Alpina D3?

I suppose it depends if you can have a Sytner group car as your company car (leaseplan only deal with Snows, for example, for my company)

Mmmm, maybe. The M Sport certainly looks better to most, but it's fundamentally a good chassis underneath so SE spec will still be a nice handling car.

If the car is being used predominantly for charging up and down motorways I'd go for the comfort option and save myself a few quid into the bargain.

Cheers for the replies gents.

Delivery time won't be a problem, I can wait and am not in a massive hurry. The Boss is also flexible.

Might look into the Alfa's.
