Right - say I was to buy one of these, what would be the implications of me using it to commute to work on? It has a good enough range etc, but what, if anything would happen if I strapped it on and flew as the crow flies to work?

idea

I think they're incredible bits of kit and they'd save my dad a fortune in time and eventually money crossing the Runcorn Widnes bridge when they start to toll it!

nothing to stop you at all.

its not a micro light, its not even an aircraft.

just buy it, and enjoy never getting stuck in traffic again!

or if you have the space, get a paramotor or a FLPHG, also no rules or regs, but you need just a touch more space for take offs and landings ( not much though )

That go fast man has one, it will do allegedly over 100mph but you only have about 35 seconds of useable squirt before you fall back to the ground yikes

It was in evo this month and will cost an estimated £58k. Give it a year or two to get costs down, and it could be an affordable option. Private sales are expected late 2010 according to the website.

I really, really, really want one! Not only would commuting be so much easier and hassle free, but how awesome would you look turning up to work on it cool

That is assuming you don't run into any powerlines or trees or whatnot

Paramotoring eh? I'd love to try it. I've been looking at prices, don't seem too expensive! Maybe it's best to get a license though out of safety...

Anybody here do it? I've tried using the search facility but it's down.

From my limited attention span and lack of investigative skills, it seems you can piece one of these together for a few grand or so. I wonder how hard it is to fly, and to get the wing inflated and airbourne?

Ditto. I think pretty much every chap or kid wanted one. And still do.

I just checked one of their news releases...apparently approx $43k (NZ dollars) a go... seems pretty reasonable!
