... on the A303, and that kept the passing traffic entertained while we waited for the arrival of the only demountable flat-bed in the county. Many thanks to Slades of Chard (who came out team-handed and with a custom-built flat-bed that can load an artic' tractor), and to Chubb insurance; and a great big raspberry to Lamborghini (lack of) Assistance who would only agree to take the car to somewhere I didn't want it to go.

I have lost count of the number of back tyre punctures I have had on this car. Am I the only person to suffer this agony?

At least you didn't bin it entirely. And it's reassuring to hear that the assistance you get with smart cars is as good as that you get with a Lambo.

just be thankful you are fortunate enough only to have to call out because of an odd flat- when i had mine it was so much trouble it was on the transporter most months

Lamborghini assist were always completely useless that for sure- neevr sedning the correct truck and on one occasion damaging the car attempting to drag it in position.

Statically you're more likely to get a puncture on the nearside due to crap collecting near the curb. Would be interesting if G's were randomly blowing the offsides smile

Do you by any chance cut across the marked lines onto or off motorways and dual carriageways??

I have a huge paranoia about those and the hard shoulder due to all the crap thats on them.

Look on the bright side over christmas i got two irreparable punctures in two weeks on same corner of the car. Granted the wheels were "only" 90 quid each but still seriously annoying.

Lamborghini Assist use Mondial for recoveries. Mondial use local contractors, so the quality of your / my experience ultimately depends on the quality of the local contractor's service.

However, Lamborghini Assist's apparent utterly witless stupid perverse lack of logic on this occasion utterly defeats me. I have no idea how to communicate my dissatisfaction and frustration to them, so I feel disposed to post a big grumpy moan here:

I have needed to have the car recovered by Lamborghini Assist on a couple of previous occasions. On the immediately previous occasion, Lamborghini Assist happily had my car collected from my home near Taunton and taken to Lamborghini London; the route being Taunton > M5 > M4 > *go* *past* *Reading* > A312 > A40 > Lamborghini London, from where I happily collected the car.

On this occasion, Lamborghini Assist declined to take my car anywhere other than to Lamborghini Reading. I said I would rather have the car taken to Lamborghini London who I have maintain my car. Lamborghini Assist said we can only take the car to Lamborghini Reading to be repaired, but we will deliver it to your North London address after it has been repaired: ie Taunton > M5 > M4 > Lamborghini Reading; then, once repaired: Lamborghini Reading > M4 > A312 > A40 > *then* *the* *additional* *distance* *around* *the* *North* *Circular* *Road* > my place.

I explained I found this somewhat illogical, to which Lamborghini Assist replied, if I was prepared to be taken to London with the car (directly from the breakdown location), they would take it to Lamborghini London!

Witless idiot dunderheads is the expression that springs to mind.

I avoid doing that.

Agreed. Those places do often seem to be strewn with debris.
