Nearing completion- 1997 AC Ace Rebuild. Test drive time!
Discussion
Hello all
As some of you may know, my OH's very cool grandfather has been rebuilding a rare 1997 AC Ace after a warehouse fire destroyed many parts and vehicles. Mechanically its pretty much complete, respray done, just some work on the interior to finish.
When last rolling roaded, the Ford V8 was pushing 350bhp, possibly nearer the 370 mark now after some tweaks and everything is running smoothly. RWD, and very, very big! I believe there are very few currently in the UK- possibly as few as 3.
My 28 yr old boyfriend got the opportunity to drive it home the other night, to say he was buzzing after the experience would be an understatement! Possibly the luckiest guy in the world, he's been granted insurance on it and hopefully we are off out in it tomorrow. Will be the first time I've experienced a very powerful engine, and literally cannot wait!
Will give an update to how it goes, I'll be taking along my SLR camera to get some decent pics too. For now I only have this cruddy mobile pic
Any questions, I'll find out the answers for you when I next see him.

Cheers

not to my taste but enjoy!
btw, is your boyfriend's age in any way relevant to your post?
Probably not, no big deal? He wasn't supposed to be insured on it til he was 30 but grandfather found some loopholes and managed to get round it.btw, is your boyfriend's age in any way relevant to your post?
As far as I'm aware its a completely private plate which represents the make and model, and the year he began the build, I'm guessing. Its an 08 plate as its been constructed 90% ish from parts and bodywork produced in the factory during manufacture of the 1997 models but the engine was brand new, from the US, as far as I'm aware.
