Off on a drive...

On Saturday, a mate and I head off on a 4,000 mile circumnavigation of Europe. Visiting France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, (Lichenstein), Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.
Any last minute tips for things to take?
'5 had a major service last week and I will check the levels etc on Friday. Got a small bottle of screenwash and oil to take with us just in case as space is at a premium...

All the stuff that you need even though you'll never use, like a triangle, hi-viz, bulbs, blah blah blah.

Thanks all,
We're off for two weeks. Starting here in Birmingham, getting the train across to France first thing Sunday morning. The aim is to be in Monaco Monday evening (after going via Magny Cours, Reims and Millau) and then spend two nights there, exploring the Col du Turini and Col Saint-Martin, as well as St Tropez, Cannes if we get time.
Next stop is Maranello and two nights there exploring the Ferrari and Lamborghini factories. If I can find enough information on it, I'd like to find the Pagani factory too! Onwards then to Switzerland, where we're spending 5 days camping on the banks of Lake Maggiore, exploring the various mountain passes, Simplonpass (Italian Job), Splugenpass, Julierpass, Umbrailpass, Stelvio and the San Bernadino, as well as the Dommodossola and Villadossola.
Then we spend a day travelling north through Kandersteg, Luzern, Basel, Strasbourg and Trier, finally coming to rest at our room for two nights at the Hotel an der Nordschleife. A couple of evenings of Toruistenfahrt will hopefully allow us a couple of laps, as well as a chance to explore the local area and get some photos, visit the local castles etc.
Finally off to Cologne and Dusseldorf, and then home! Ferry is booked for the Friday evening but we've got a flexible ticket to allow us to move that to Saturday if we so wish or need to due to delays or what have you
I've got lots of Euros, Spare bulb kit, warning triangle, headlamp deflectors, breakdown cover is sorted. Also got first aid kit, two hi-vis, some gaffa tape and zip ties too! Hats are a permanent feature in the car so got that and suncream sorted.
Getting really excited now - cannot wait!

Either i get inventive or I think this is going to have to be my aim - whether he/she likes it or not

Sounds like an amazing trip. Have a great time
Don't forget to keep your high-vis vest IN the car. The French are strangely picky about it for some reason.
Under the seats - I assume it is because you can get out of the car, and then get mown down before you put your hi-vis on (if it's in the boot), whereas if it's in the passenger compartment then you can pop it on before you get out.

and thanks
And I'm back!
4,250 miles completed in 14 days of travelling. The car performed faultlessly really, although I did have to do an emergency brake-pad change in Germany as the front ones were [i]very[i] close to metal/metal interferance.
I'll do a full write up over the coming weeks, but here's a quick taster photograph at the top of the Stelvio Pass.
(bear in mind it was 30 degrees when we took this shot!)

edit: and this is the other side of the Pass...
