Woe! Managed to kerb one of my beautiful, recently powder-coated alloys this morning - on my own drive at about 1mph which sort of makes it worse.

I am so gutted frown

(Sorry - I just felt I had to share my misery. And with extra apologies to those that think it's no big deal).

I did one yesterday as well. So upset. Stupid width restrictors. what's the fking point of them anyway? I'm guessing magnesium wheels are more expensive to fix?

WTF?!! yikes

I'm hoping that some touch up paint and lacquer along with careful use of P2000 wet and dry should leave me with an almost invisible repair.

What did you do, buy a new car for the alloys?!? Refurbs are less than £80 a wheel around here, and that's leaving the wheel better than it was from factory.

After insisting the delaer get the wheels on my 335i refurbed before I bought it, I managed to scrub a 2 inch graze onto one of them last week. To be fair I'm not used to parking with an auto box and got in a bit of a flap.

I'm sure you could pick up a couple of A6 wheels for a lot less than £1200. If not, then shame on Audi!

Sorry to hear of your misery.

I learnt years ago that the fancier your wheels the more likely they are to get expensively damaged!

You can usually pick up a full set of those on VW forums for under £400.

After 11 years and 86,000 miles my wheels are ready for a refurb (mainly due to hammer-on wheel balancing weights allowing the weather to get under the lacquer) but due to their titchy old-man nature (16"), there's not a scuff on them.

Yay little wheels!
