So - I have a shop. I've had it on the market as I've had my eye on a better shop. The current shop is leasehold, limited space etc... This other shop is in a larger village, with a larger centre, it's a larger shop & is freehold. I just had to sell the current one to be able to afford it.

So, last week I received an offer on my shop from a certain regional chain. The offer was what I was asking, so was duly accepted. What do I find out shortly after? They're also made an offer that has been accepted on the shop I was after. Bugger.

I then received a letter yesterday morning from said regional chain asking me to attend a meeting regarding the 'situation' whatever that is. The long and the short of it, after much financial and strategical deliberation / planning, is that I'm to be a director of the firm and be responsible for three shops. My current one, the one I was after, and another one between the two.

Very. Very. Happy.

Im confused.

You have a shop and you want to buy a bigger one.

Random company comes along, makes you a director and then you run all three shops thus having no business of your own.

I've never had a van. Let alone driven one.

So, does that mean you have 3 directorships or 1?

Not quite. I was already a director elsewhere.

Sounds like a classic Starbucks tactic. Make sure you get a very long and watertight contract from your new employer!

I ordered two AK47 water pistols about a month ago then cancelled them as they didn't have any in stock (bloody Gadget Show) but still took the money from my account. I asked for a refund, which they did, then yesterday I received two in the post!

Now that's fking epic! thumbup

Well played.
What stake have they offered? %age?
Shares?
Don't have to publish only interested as in a similar (kind of) position
