Air con - regas or service?

Hey guys. My air con is not blowing cold. Do I re-gas or service. Someone told me that a re-gas without an air con service could be a waste of money as there could be a leak.

Is he full of it?

In my experience a Re-Gas and Service are the same thing. Recover the gas, draw a vacuum, bung some oil in then refil the gas. If the machine can't hold a vacuum it would suggest a leak. But a leak is not the only reason it may not be working. Better IMO to book it in somewhere and say "it's not working" and that if it IS a regas do that otherwise call me when you've sussed it.

I think a lot of them do not charge if a regas doesnt work.
