Hi folks,
There is a road trip happening last week of August through Europe encompassing Germany, Bavaria, Austria & Italy, in aid of Help for Heroes. The aim is to drive 5 miles for every fallen service member since the beginning of the conflict in Afghanistan. This is going to be a fantastic event with press coverage and corporate sponsorship.

Here is an outline of the event taken from the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=389217940634...

Tuesday 24th
We will then be setting off on the Rally at Noon, arriving at Nurburg mid-afternoon, have a look around the museum and the other facilities at the track, we will then hopefully have a quiet evening.........after a couple of hours of public time on the track. I'll line up some refreshments at the campsite where we will all (unless you wish to make your own arrangements) be staying.

Wednesday 25th
We will depart Nurburg at around 0900hrs for our trip down to Bavaria, where we will be staying at a campsite near the town of Garmisch/Mittenwald, again I will have refreshments and music going, there will hopefully be time to visit the toboggan run on the mountainside with a nice cable car ride up the mountain to get us to the start, failing that there's also a nice swimming pool/health spa located in the town.

Thursday 26th
Departing Garmisch/Mittenwald at around 0900hrs and making our way over the mountain range into Austria. We will then cut across the corner of Austria and enter Italy and spend the day travelling through the Stelvio National Park before returning to our campsite in Mittenwald after one of the most amazing drives of your life.

Friday 27th
Departing Garmisch/Mittenwald at around 0800hrs and driving back to Nurburg where we will clock up any additional mileage we need to meet our targets. I intend to leave Nurburg no later than 1800hrs and return to Elmpt Station by 1930hrs where we will get some final publicity shots and enter the Rugby Club Bar for a celebratory party and disco.

Saturday 28th
We say goodbye and head for home, those of you returning to the UK I'm sure will still be able to travel the 200 miles to Dunkirk in convoy. This will then give you the opportunity to recover from one of the trips of a life time before starting back to work.

I hope this sounds good to everyone and I dont see these dates changing. I'm also working on getting us a support crew to carry all the tentage and assist in putting it up in both locations. Because we are camping for the 3 nights of the trip it will keep the costs of the trip to a minimum.

Folks as of a few weeks ago, this event was full. Now almost 20 people have dropped out for one reason or another, its for a cracking cause and the chap organising it is on ops and is organising the whole thing from Afghanistan!

You don't need to raise a minimum amount to come, you just need a a vehicle of some description that you'll be willing to put the corporate logos on ( I have been assured they come off easily!), there are fast Fords to Jags and even MPV's going so all are welcome! So what are you waiting for? If you want to come along, I have the registration forms and can email them over to you and that's it.
First come first served, 20 spaces, get in there!

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Just to clarify after a couple of questions, the poster says £250 to enter your own vehicle, that is only for corporate sponsors. For people wishing to just take part, there is no fee!
