iPod integration for Jag XJR Premium Sound system.

Just been quoted £573 + vat for an iPod module for an 06 XJ. Just wondered if there was a cheaper alternative which meant you could control the ipod through the head unit?

Anyone got any recommendations?

Against spending that money, i would buy a Griffin Radio Frequency transmitter from fleabay. Cost about 20-30 and you can get ones that run off the ipod battery or ones that are integrated into an ipod cig lighter charger cable.
I have both.

Of course the real cheap option is a casette adaptor that runs off the earphone socket. But its not that great and the sound quality is of casette type

Yeah, thanks for that, done some digging and the Dension looks like a better option, only a couple of hundred and looks quite good as well.

Will see what goes, picking the car up on Monday.
