I currently have Contisport Contact 3 tyres (original form factory) on my M3 saloon and need a full set of new tyres.

Any recommendations? I'm tempted to go with Michelin as recommended BMW.

Thanks

Michi PS2

I have them on my car and they've lasted well, excellent grip both wet and dry. Mine are getting abit thin now and I'll be getting another set soon.

I had the cups before which were a disaster.

I run Michelin Cups in the summer and PA3s in the winter. Cups are great in the summer but useless and dangerous in the winter. If it’s an all year round set up you need then PS2 would be the way forward IMO.

I have cups on 19s and PS2s on 18s, PS2s for year-round use for sure.

I have PS2's on my saloon and I am amazed at how long they have lasted considering how good they are in terms of alround performance.

About to get some new tyres and will definitely replace with the same.

A friend of mine with an e92 really likes the contis, and as conti have just released the ContiSportContact 5P which won the 2010 Auto Bild Ultra High Performance Tyre Test i'd be very tempted to pick up a set.

He goes through tyres at a fair rate hehe

Always had PS2, thought that they were very good, still are, but I now have Pirelli Pzero Corsa F 255/35 ZR19, R 285/30 ZR 19 and the levels of grip are very impressive but I don't know about wear rate yet.

One of the better looked after examples actually. Serviced on the nose, constantly clean and just had the whole front end resprayed at 15,000 miles because he "didn't like the stone chips" (which i could hardly notice).

If you're going to be put off by a car being used hardproperly, then I'd suggest a used M3 isn't the car for you.

Sorry but I dont consider a 'burnout' in any way impressive or using the car 'properly'.

Anyway, Im more of an M5 man.

Yes, the whole point of the technology of an M3 is that you don't break traction

Just about to get two new rears for my E90 M3 - 265/35 r19 98Y.

Michelin PS2's ranging from £299 to £323 each fitted having checked five places generally recommended by fellow Pher's or that I have used before.

Car also booked in for oil service next week and I asked the stealer to quote for tyres as well - £421 fitted.

Thanks. How's the wear rate on your Corsa's? I was going with PS2's, but I reckon the Pirelli's are the best bet. For info, I've done 13,200 miles on the Conti's and the rears are nearly on the wear indicators with the fronts about 2mm to go.

Sorry it's early days about 3k miles so far and it's only a weekender, if I stick my neck out I reckon about 15k miles for the rears, but that's subjective to how you drive as always.

On the positive side I have a fav small roundabout that I could gently break traction and "just" about drift around with PS2's on both E46 M3 and now E92 M3, it won't do it with the corsa's, that's about as scientific as I can get I guess.

I was a big fan of PS2's still am really, not a Conti fan but the Corsa's are a step up so far in my opinion.

I'm confused, are you guys talking about the P Zero Corsa System? (directional front, asymmetric rear)
