Wimbledon Tickets
Discussion
Hi all,
Having only ever been to wimbledon on a corporate pass I don't know how it works when going as a normal member of the public!
I've heard that at 8pm every evening you can buy back row seats for the next days play on center, but there are not many tickets.
I've also heard that normal tickets for center go on sale i.e. not cheap seats about 48 horus prior to the day of play..
Anyone got any tips? Or prices?
I am going on monday.
Thank you.

Dont forget the resale box at the top of Henman Hill, it's amazing how many people forget or just don't know!
Are they cheaper than normal?I suppose one can get lucky in there sometimes...?
The deal is that you get into Wimbledon on your standard ground pass ticket that you queue up for in the morning and wander the grounds, sit on the hill, watch at the smaller courts etc etc. All the big show court tickets are already sold out (there's a postal ballot/lottery weeks earlier) and people arrive in the morning and use these tickets as they want. However when these people leave, say they just want to watch Murray first match in the morning, they are asked to scan their show court ticket on the way back out of SW19 and the seat is then available again for resale, which takes place at the top on Henman hill at a little portakabin, they're cheaper and the profits go to charity.
There is a queue there and people do wait quite a while but you can often get in for the late evening games on the big courts which is great. We do it every year, even if we have show court tickets another day. It's great fun and you never quite know what you'll get!
The resale tickets are £5 and proceeds go to Charity, It really does depend on the order (and speed) of play. The queue was huge yesterday for the resale tickets until about 6pm as Federer was last up on court 1 however the two matches earlier in the day didn't take too long and not many got to see any tennis on court 1 from the resale unless they put the delayed matches from other courts (esp 18) on to court 1 after we left.
If on the other hand if you were there on Monday a resale for Centre would have seen you enjoying some great matches with the 5 setter from Federer delaying and Novak game going on so late.

Yeah, if you are serious about watching some tennis and not fussed about who or what then it's definitely worth doing but it's certainly worth it just to spend a few hours in the show courts...If on the other hand if you were there on Monday a resale for Centre would have seen you enjoying some great matches with the 5 setter from Federer delaying and Novak game going on so late.
