Does anyone have a list of dealers that actually handle warranty work in the UK now? I tried calling Hendon Vauxhall, who say they'll service, but who couldn't recommend anyone for warranty work.

Having just brought my car across, I've not transferred the warranty. Basically, I wasn't going to bother unless I needed to. What I don't know is whether a UK garage will do the recall work without a certificate of warranty (whatever that might look like), so if someone knows a garage that'll do the work, I'll give them a call and find out!!! My guess is that they'd still do the work, but they'd charge for it...

Yes, they charge the earth too. Recall work is not warranty work and should be done regardless by a dealer and there's the rub, you have to find a dealer.

My gf had a recall for her 1994 Fiat which has to be free of charge. With the withdrawal of UK support, you therefore have to find someone who is still officially a dealer.

Surely the dealer who sold you the car would have to do the recall work?

And the dealer who sold me the car waaas...

Bill Heard Chevroltet in Houston, Texas, which is where I had the misfortune to be living until a couple of months ago :-)

No offence to Texans, but Houston really isn't a nice place to live (though there are those who love it!!!)

Something tells me that the cost of shipping the car to and back from Texas would be more than just paying someone to do it...

Only ONE place authorised to carry out GM Warranty work in the UK and that is Bauer Millett in Manchester. I know 'cos I had mine fixed a couple of months ago and went thru this loop.
