i cant wait to be honest, ive owned my car for 3 years, cant afford 30k on top to upgrade to what i call a step up, so 5k gets me supercar performance in a car i love and have owned from day one, so i know its history as well, win win i say.but yeah i literally cant wait!!

5k? Assume thats without fitting and mapping. Thought it was closed to 10k all in!

Most S/c BM's i've seen have been built and sold in months of installation, i've always wondered why!?

5k is a nice price if that's what they're coming across at. I lost interest in the threads talking about the new kits as the delays seemed endless. I will have to do some research again now that they're shipping.

The Stage 1 should be a DIY fit for someone with relative competance with a spanner. I was looking at the *old* stage 2 kits, and even that was all bolt-on work which could be done on a driveway if you had the mind to do it..

yup the kit itself i bagged a 10% group buy discount so all in, including fitting and mapping im looking at around 4800-5000 gbp. Ive done alot of research on the kit and its been the basis for the e46 m3 kit so im confident in ess and they are the top supercharger kit makers in the usa, but i promise as soon as bits arrive ill keep everyone updated, all i know is 445bhp in a little z4m is going to feel balistic!! guys check my link below for more details on the kit.

http://www.esstuning.com/products/Z4M-VT1%252d445-...

it looks almost factory under the hood, my kit will be crackle black finished with polished housings and brackets, that bit is costing a tiny bit extra as im having it done here in the uk afterwards.

Good choice, hopefully you'll be happy with the outcome. I know I am with an ESS system on my M5.

We've kept our ESS supercharged 2.8 Z3 and wont sell it. It's run absulotely fine, one or 2 BMW parts needed to be changed (throttle position sensor & AFM), but performance-wise, totally satisfied. That was about 6 or 7 years ago!

Cost of ours fitted, RR'd etc. was around £5k, when the $ rate was much better than it is now (our Vortech SC unit is made in the USA).

I think the S54 should be fine as ESS have run a CSL for some years AFAIK.

Please keep us posted with progress of this as I'd love to see it on the road.

Very good, not had any issues with the system and the company support is also very good.

The kit is easy to install if you have the confidence to do so and don't mind a sore back from being bent over the engine for a few days.

You'll soon be wanting the stage 2 kit though once you get used too/ addicted too the power

e36 M3 kits? I do hope so, can you provide a link please? I was under the impression that the stresses on the e36 Evo under forced induction were too great for the engine and major internal strengthening was required.

Hope to be corrected on this though.

The car should be producing 445bhp when shes all finished and mapped, the kit is a very low boost 5psi kit, lots of track testing, lots of high speed autobahn testing, the supercharger itsself is self lubricated so doesnt tap into the cars oil thus reducing high oil temps.(has its own oil tank and filter) The kit is the 445bhp kit, and the stage 2 is 500bhp, all kits use the same supercharger just different intercoolers and software so i can upgrade as i get used to the power!!
445bhp in a z4m?? its going to be a rocket. I am spending extra time and money getting the kit to look as oem as possible, pics and updates will be provided as soon as my kit arrives, ive just emailed ess to see if theyve managed to get my shipment sent today!!

From what i've seen, it's not that bad, you'll find videos of a Z3M 3.2 on ebay with 400 and something bhp.
5-7psi is about the max you'd really want, the killer for evos is rod bolt stretch and a bottom end knock.
the fix is ARP bolts, which isn't expensive, but you can't just pull the sump down as the subframe sits underneath.
