Engine Blown!

Engine still running but needs a top end rebuild.

Decided to upgrade so bought 2008 Saggy engine with 7,000 miles.

Engine out now so hopefully Saggy engine in and up and running by the end of next week.

I'm guessing Pauls old engine?
I can confirm the engine pulls very well indeed & you shouldn't have any issues.

No tracking at all. Progressive decline. Aeromotive guys were on the case. Compression and leakdown tests confirmed my worst fears.

Correct Lee, was Pauls engine. Nice guy, gave us a spin in his LS7 Saggy also....what a motor that is!!!
Looking forward to getting back on road with some serious BHP!

Don't suppose you now have a spare a/c compressor so I could test to see if mine is knackered?

No I haven't Barry, sorry. The engine on mine was running but was just down on power. We did all the basic checks first, and then took the car upto X Works in Blackpool for a second opinion, and the leak down and compression tests were done up there.

Hello Mate.

I guess Speed Six engines (good or blown) are hard and getting harder to come by, so when I spoke with Paul and he mentioned that he had a lot of interest in the engine, we jumped in a van and went down to Topcat Racing to pick it up with cash in pocket!

And yes, I will be selling my old engine as soon as the new one is up and running.

No major issues just my Air/Con does not work have tried lots of things which now lead my to the compressor but would like to try one before shelling out big bucks just in case it aint that.
I'm not to bothered about it as it's a convertible.

I'm sure you have, but have you checked the settings on the pod? It happened on mine and rendered it useless. Evan the garage couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.

I would suggest from experience that those who track their cars are even more fastidious about servicing and upgrading so don't see the point of your question. Obviously doesn't bother the buyer as he's just bought an engine thats been fitted to a car thats been tracked but properly maintained.

I suspect you are correct. I'm still curious as to any preceeding symptoms, in case they sound familiar. No offence was intended.
