'country roads' with downgraded 50mph limits....

I'm not arguing about the suitability of 60/50mph limit on this road, but isn't it daft?

The 'main' road is a 50 limit, but all the very minor side roads are 60 (in theory), and you have all these derestriction signs for the side roads facing the 'main' road which is still a 50!

It just irritates me every time I drive down it, it just seems to highlight the inconsistency of lowering limits, and poor signage too.

That always cracks me up too! The A57 Snake Pass is a 50 limit and then some single track (ahem) road just off it full of potholes, flanked by dry stone walls that are falling to bits is 60! Go figure!!!!

Glad it's not just me. I suppose the end game is a 50mph blanket limit, so it won't be an issue, sooner or later.

A blanket 90 would be better! We should think like the Italians....(just a comparison I know but) their speed limit on certain lakes is 20MPH faster than most boats can actually travel. Genius! That's my kinda thinkin!
