Normal people love sunny weather...

... but Im not sure Sag owners do.

I have been monitoring my temperature gauges carefully over the last few weeks...

Up and up it goes as the engine warms... slowly, slowly to 90 degrees... the fans kick in... the battery volts drop... both are on... ah, relief. Relax. Calm. All is well.

But alas, the temperatures dont fall... they sit between 96-99 as the fans kick in and out.. never dropping further. In fact, the fans are on most of the time in traffic at the moment.

So, the question is:

- are we all experiencing the same... carefully watching our temperature gauges until the three weeks of British summer finish?; or
- am I alone?

Final info; Alu rad fitted earlier in the year, but I do live in London and sit in too much traffic.

Has anyone found a more powerful fan solution they can recommend? My main concern is that a few more degree of air temp. and the fans won't cool below 100 degrees if needed. I dont want to overheat later in the summer if I can avoid it....

Can't you set the fans to kick in earlier?

Could be worth getting your servicing garage to confirm the temperatures are correct, beleive what you get on the display is not necessarily an accurate temp can be up to 6 degrees out when checked on their computers.

Exactly, my dash sensor reads similar to yours but when plugged into the laptop the ECU sensor is actually showing a steady 88-92 deg with the fans cutting in correctly.

Do you allow for this temp discrepency when extending the rev during the warm up period. The dash might read 70degs so all good to go but in reality the engine isnt quite up to the optimum temps yet?

We're talking about water temps though. Most of us warm our cars up based on oil temps and they do tend to be a lot more acurate, if anything slightly under-reading due to the cold airflow across the sensor.

dom does a modified chip and the fans come on earlier. Never had a problem with heat in my car, you just need to block all the gaps up in the car and get the ac working properly. My mr's actually shuts the ac off sometimes.
