Paul has sent me some photos of his conversion from race car to road car and some other cracked parts that are in desparate need of repair eek

It sounds like it has not been the easiest of processes and the engine has been in and out a few times.

I am sure Paul will explain them so just sit back and enjoy....or not vomit

If that's the start, it's a lot closer to a road car than a race car.......unless someone took all of the good bits off!

thanks david for posting the pictures these were taken about a week ago as you can tell ive took a fair bit of time to make car more road usable ie suspension the rest of the running gear and engine is as was when racing and car has now had all decals from gt series put back on internally still got fire system and all electrics ie ecu etc repositioned from footwell to another area in cock pit the engine was out in the pics as we had a gear selection problem so we fitted a new gear box clutch and slave cylinder and fly wheel on inspection we found the clutch plate had seperated from the centre plate so all fine now was a great bonus that the rear end of chassi unbolts as it meant we could remove engine complete with turbos and exhaust still in place saving a lot of spanner time and self harming <hope the picture not to offensive must apologize> cheers paul

That's the oil breather/separator.

Best thow it in the bin and treat the car to a pro-alloy one, would be a shame to fill the sump with rust. smile

hi david has both questions right as for seperator tank had a camera in it no rust yet im intending to make my own tank in alloy with stainless mesh baffling and a breather filter built in to remove breather pipe out of loop to front turbo as set up at moment to aid emissions on a closed loop system to keep the right people happy while car was checked over

Yes it was a very simple job on mine, took about 30 mins to swap it over. The only thing you dont get is a bung to go into the air inlet pipe to front turbo, but it's well worth doing. The old one i took off was full of rust and completely blocked.

yes

Shook mine and it rattled and was full of mayo. ProAlloy one is 100 times better and just vents to atmosphere under the car. No need for baffles, filters or any other unnecessary parts.
