Burning rubber! Help please.....

Hi again...my first ever problem has become
Has anyone yet had a problem with the smell of burning rubber after a drive from the offside rear wheel arch?
I went out last night in the Sag for a blast as the mrs had her mates round and after a 30 mile drive i arrived home onto the drive to look straight into my wind mirror to see a small amount of smoke trickling out of the offside wheel arch and then a smell of burning rubber inside. Now i straight away got on my knees to see if the tyre was rubbing on anything and it isnt!!! It defo rubber smell tho. Couldnt really locate the smoke as to where it was coming from it was just flowing straight up over arch!
Hopefully get it up on a ramp on Saturday morning if it fits on the ramp and have a look around under her, but anyone had anything like this before?

yep, had that with my Cerb. i did not find anything, went to TVR and they did not find anything wrong as well.Has anyone yet had a problem with the smell of burning rubber after a drive from the offside rear wheel arch?

Right cheers for yr help lads but ive just been out tonight for a drive, not driving anywhere near fast, as im pretty keen to get this sorted, and there must be at least 2.5 to 3 inches between the tyre and the arch on outer edge and all round. Ive also checked the outer edge of the tyre and its looks perfectly normal, no rub marks at all and the clearance is massive between the arch and the tyre like a said.
It wasnt as pungent tonight i must say but defo a pretty big smell of rubber melting/burning. No smoke from arch this time as soon i stopped i quickly jumped out and stuffed my noise straight to the o/s/r wheel. big smells but no smoke. Still gonna get it on a ramp and check it out!
any ideas boys???

Brilliant guys thanks!!!!! Really appreciate it. Ill check them out tom am and report back. That sounds pretty likely to be honest cause it seems to eminate from that tyre although the tyre is miles away from the arch so overheating of the tyre sounds right.

I had a similar problem on my Tuscan and it turned out to be a deflated tyre not so easy to see with 35 profile tyres. Tyre was overheating with only 8 psi of pressure! Turned out to be a defective valve cap pushing on the inner core of the valve resulting in loss of pressure.

Lifted her up on a ramp and the rear diff front oil seal is leaking slightly straight onto the exhaust. Back to RG she goes!!!!
Thanks all for yr help, i have a year top notch warranty from RG so when im back off my hols ill get it into RG to get it sorted.
