Now i have to admit i have had my fair share of squabbles with forum posters but was thinking at what point is taking the piss and going to far meet..???

I suppose tracking you down using the internet, waiting patiently outside your house until you leave, then breaking in and pissing in your sock draw may be going a bit too far.

I personally don't like getting aggressive with people I've never met before on a web forum, I always thought it a little pointless.

Saw a news report yesterday about a girl who was being bullied via her mobile and facebook

Back when I were a lad, bullying meant being punched about a bit and thrown down a toilet

I used to be a member of an internet forum that claimed (and still does) to be the pre-eminent discussion forum for owners of the marque in question. There used to be a fair amount of 'peer pressure' applied to maintain the status quo, to the extent of late-night abusive phonecalls to errant members who didn't toe the line. I think its a bit like the road rage thing if its something that hits the right nerve people tend to fly off the handle and sight of what it is they are debating/arguing and then target the one that made them see red mist..

At least on a forum you can just not sign in or even change your profile name..
