Removing Scratches

Are you talking about the dial or the crystal?
I'll assume you mean the crystal.
Some watches are fitted with very hard crystals - such a Seiko - and you will probably not get the scratches out of one of them.
Some are fitted with a much softer acrylic crystal and you can get scratches out of these with a product called Polywatch and a bit of elbow grease.
Google your particular watch to see if it has Sapphire/Hardlex/Mineral crystal or acrylic, then you'll know if its worth giving it a go.

I've used a Cape Cod polishing cloth with good effect for light scratches. Bought a kit with jeweller's rouge, I'll see if I can find the link
