SLS experience caught my eye at Brooklands, 2hrs in some flavour of AMG followed by 55 mins in the SLS, presumably in both instances with tuition and coaching involved.
But, it's pretty steep price, for which one could hire something like a GTR or 911 Turbo for 3-4 days and go exploring the Wilds.
So, which to go for?

Both would be tempting. But for me it would have to be the Highlands. More variety in terms of roads than just round a track.

id take the gtr in the highlands

the sls half day would be amazing, but it would be over so quickly. - plus, im no track master, and i bet they dont let you drive that quick. If i were going on a track day, id rather something slower were i could get more tuition and learn something.

For pure experience: I like the idea of waking up in a hotel to be greeted by a stunning highlands view, stroll down to the GTR, glistening in the morning dew, turn the key, and thunder off for a days adventure......

Can you really hire a 997Turbo or GTR with any decent mileage allowance for 4 days for just £1000???

I would be VERY surprised!

out of the two. I voted for the GTR/911 thing...

but personally for around £1000 the Palmersport day makes the SLS thing seem VERY expensive and poor value.

Palmersport day is amazing.

Lucky enough to live up here with a m3 to play with which is fine for the road so I'd try the SLS on track. smile

Palmersport for the track fun then Caterham round Scotland another weekend. Should manage both for that price!

ETA: The 50 min AMG then 5 lap SLS experience doesn't look too bad though, only £270 rather than £1,050

I posted in the MX-5 forum that Mazda are offering a long drive in an MX-5 and a free lunch from the homepage of their website.

Not an SLS or a Palmer day admittedly, but free good lunch, no charge, nada, zip, with a nice drive around North Yorkshire, Cotswolds or Loch Lomond thrown in.

This. Get up early, 6:30am, leave the wife in bed, go out for a 2hr hoon and meet her back at the hotel for breakfast. That's where I'm at.
