More syncrometer questions!
Discussion
My syncrometer should be turning up tomorrow morning so this weekend will mostly be spent with my head in the engine bay
(again)
When Im going through the whole setup, should I remove the airboxes AND the induction pipes completeley? I would imagine that the syncrometer needs to fit directly onto the inlet rather than on the end of the induction pipes???? Just wondering if Its OK to run my car with the tops of the inlets completley open..... (cerb 4.5)
Also, Im meant to clamp the purge pipe. I can see a 4 way junction sitting on top of the air con compressor. Is this the junction? and if so, is it the one that branches off directly underneath the injector rails that needs to be clamped?

Got mine yesterday. You will absolutely stunned about the lack of craftsmanship in £50 worth of car kit. Just as well the tax man conributes to mine.
I suggest you take the airboxes off as you will probably need to test individual ports to make any sense of what you are seeing.
As for dropping stuff don't. Did this in my cobra once. Large vertical hole with a carb sat on top. Big hole to drop stuff down, although when I tokk the carb off I had enough space to put my hand down and rummage about. Looked like the car equivalent of James Herriot.

And heres me thinking that your patients notes would be covered by the data protection act Dr64
Sounds quite nasty!

Will make sure I have my magnetic thingy to hand tomorrow!

lol .. you're ok as long as you don't open the throttles weh said bolt / nut / glass eye is in there ..!
take the pipes off and run with the inlets open .. don't clamp off the purge pipe, the car doesn't run like that so why they say clamp it off is a mystery to me, it just upsets the running of the car when you unclamp it again!! doh!
Tip : make sure the engine is stinking hot, that way the block expansion is as it would be when driving, it makes a difference to the airflows across the banks!
Good luck
