Fight club mk2!
you lot have to be spoon fed don;t you?!
The idea is to choose pairs of cars that one might end up with to satisfy a particular 'what car type scenario'.
It's like, y'know a 'fun game'..! Or if it helps you could just imagine that someone had said "oooh i have noticed that an s2000 and a z3m cost similar money which should I buy?"
The thread to find similarish cars of similarish ages but with some very clear differences! Then we will discuss the merits and demerits of the two cars (like we always do until some student lowers the tone.
I have given you three examples then add your own options for discussion

Gallardo. Because it's cool.
This is the thing. It's the only car that I want to replace my Aero with. It's faster, flashier and more of a supercar - and having just spent a weekend in one, I loved it. And it is, empirically, a far better car than the Morgan. But the Aero 8 just has that something - I was out in mine last night and the noise, view over the bonnet, rarity just makes every journmey an event. And it is genuinely cooler than the Lambo, if other people's reactions are anything to go by!
I think that this is in the spirit of the thread. For two cars of similar intent in similar price brackets, they do things so very differently.
Basically, I have to own both, don't I. Time to sell family members, then.
Allow me to adjudicate! Aero8 is a katrillion times cooler than a gallardo. gallardo is too erm 'Urban' to be cool. great car though and i see how they both appeal to HF.
(the thing is thoigh that perhaps the aero 8 is a cab and the gallardo a coupe and so they're too different. but then for this type of car perhaps there's less of a 'classification issue once you go into 'mad cars')

Pretty much this. The Aero 8 is undeniably cool to look at (I've not had the pleasure of a go in one yet) and I'd guess it might be the only 'supercar' on the market that doesn't attract ANY negative criticism. I can't think of any reason I'd pick the Gallardo over the Aero 8, but I just would. Sometimes a bit of negative attention is a good thing
The Aero 8 is a classic beauty, the Audrey Hepburn of the car world. You'd love it, cherish it, everyone would be enamoured to it.
The Gallardo is a little more like Megan Fox. You really want a go, and it would probably be an angry sweaty affair, but not a life long love. One you might not tell your mum about either...
Erm, what were we talking about?

I treated the Gallardo like a w
e as soon as it was warmed up. This was, as you say, Megan Fox, a motel room and a lot of blow.Very different. Both awesome.

Didn't this fall on its' arse yesterday when you tried it?
Anyway, i'd take all the BMW's, except maybe the 328, i had a soft spot for ATR's.
Having said that, i'm looking at buying a 2000 just now, and i did consider Z3M, but they're too thirsty for the number of miles i do.
If you do lots of miles you'll probably find the Z3M to be just as good as the S2000, maybe better. It's the same engine as they E36 M3, which is known, on a run, to do mid thirties and that's not dawdling along at 70 either. My S2000 used to do about 30 mpg on a run at a bout 80ish. Don't buy an S2000 if you do loads of motorway driving as it's hard work.Anyway, i'd take all the BMW's, except maybe the 328, i had a soft spot for ATR's.

arese, another confrontation i can;t decide if you're:

or

(
)
it might not be working quite right but i still think this is a reasonable idea. but i acknowledge it has fallen on its arse. I had to re-do it as mk2 because things certainly never take off if you leave it with all the naysayer comments!
