Its a Land Rover freelander R ? 55reg TD4 2.0SE with 36k on the clock. Its up for £9850
I thought i'd read that these were unreliable ? So hoping somebody here can advise ?

My wife has had a 54 plate TD4 Sport since new, 65k and the only non service cost so far has been a fuel pump and tyres. 100% reliable.

The 1.8 Petrols suffered from head gasket issues I believe, but the TD4 is much better.

I have a 55 plate TD4, 69K miles and no problems, perfect 100% reliability (unlike my L322 Vouge)

I run a 54 plate sport version 2.0 td4, up to 89,000 so far, it just gets used in the winter and stored in summer. It had a new clutch last year, and I had to repair the rear window demister. That's it in the last 2 years.

Great little car, goes anywhere I want it to, especially on winter tyres. Only downside is the seats too high. I'm 6'2 and once I'm in it's fine, but pretty much always smack my head getting in, much to the kids amusement!

Ive an 04 SE, had it 16 months now.

SE spec is superb, has everything you need for daily life, a/c. 6 disc autochanger, rear parking sensors, heated windscreen, heated electric powerfold mirrors, heated half leather seats.

I get about 430-500 from a tank, mixed driving.

Goes everywhere, great in the snow with the clever traction control and HDC for hills, decent tyres and your laughing!

Check the boot locker is dry, the rear seals leak and a wet locker is the sign, new seal solves it.

Mine has a new clutch fitted after the slave cylinder leaked, gearbox out job so worth changing even though the old one was hardly worn, not a common problem, i think i was just unlucky.
