Still on the hunt for a new car.
I have come across a lovely looking mk1 but its quite expensive (so thinks I anyway)
Can i just run a few bits of infor past you and see what the market value is so i can work out what to offer for said car.
Im not going to post the link because one of you might sneak infront of me and snap it up!
Its a 1992 silver UK 1.6
75k miles
Mot till apr 11
tax till end of the year
looks to be rust free (though i havent been to see it yet)
lots of stuff replaced including brakes, cambelt and serviced every 6 months.
not mentioned if history is present but 90% sure it will be.
looks nice all over.
Basically, i think that it is a very good example with a relitvly low milage.
its up at £2000.
would it be an insult offering £1750?

For this time of year £2k is a fair asking price. If he was selling it over the winter months he'd struggle to get £1500.
Having said that I bought my mk1 1.8 S-Special in January this year. It was showing about 75,000km (50,000 miles) and the condition reflected it - it was mint!
There were no signs of rust and it had only been in the UK for 12 months. Anyway I paid £2500 for it as I not seen anything even comparable.
So, if it's all sound then i'd say £1750 is a good offer...
