Can anyone help with the problem of our little friends that fly around in the sky depositing white stuff onto the paintwork of my beloved BMW 330CI. Being blue paint work the cr8p left behind, if not moved straight away, is actually staining the painwork big time..To the point you can actually see the damage done. I've tried t-cut but to no avail. Does anyone know of a product to remove the offending stains and get my car looking gleaming again....

I think you may need to consult a professional detailer on this. As I believe you will need to strike a balance between cutting down through the lacquer to get rid of the etching but not entirely going through the clear coat. They will also be able to recommend or apply a suitable sealant or wax to act as a barrier

I'd agree with that. Tcut is quite a basic product and a cars lacquer is not as delicate as you think if you know what you are doing. A pro detailer for instance will use anything as coarse as 2000 grit sandpaper to get off scratches which is a worrying moment if you are watching but will then use finer sandpaper and a range of buffing compounds to bring back the finish. All about knowing paint thickness and choosing correct product but most stains like this are pretty straightforward to correct

Don't all newer cars have to have water based paint? If so the acid Ph of bird deposites will upset the ballance of the paintwork. You need a good teflon or very high resin polish so the bird poo doesn't touch the paint and still lets the paint breathe if it's a new car. Prevent rather than cure.

Thanks for all the advice. Sorry for delay in replying. Been in germany all week. It's a 2003 E46, so I did wonder if age made a difference.... I'll consult a professional.

This has happened a few times on the roof of my 2000 E46 328. It's not a daily driver so I don't notice for a day or so. It's usually the larger brown/sandy coloured ones that are a pig to remove and always stain the paint or clearcoat frown

Park elsewhere frown

Seems to be nothing I can do about the roof, tried claying, waxing, polishing, etc.

Not parking under any trees in future.
